Dr. Diaa Eldin Altaweel is an orthodontist holding a postgraduate diploma in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics from Damascus University, with a career built on more than fifteen years of specialist practice — complex orthodontic cases, fixed and clear aligner treatment, dentofacial orthopaedics, digital planning and temporary anchorage devices.

That path began on a firm academic footing. In 2005 he ranked first in the national dental examination for postgraduate admission, then continued into specialisation in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopaedics. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) and holds the Invisalign Gold Shield — markers of a career defined by specialisation and continuous development rather than clinical volume alone.

What gives that experience its value is not the number of years or the range of techniques, but the way a case is read before any decision is made. The first question is never which appliance to use. It is what the problem actually is: the relationships between teeth, jaws and function, the objectives and their priority, the alternatives compared on the same axes, and a treatment sequence that fits the data of that case and can be revisited as it responds.

The same habit of mind runs through his personal interests. Mathematics, geometric and strategic thinking sharpened a preference for measurement, analysis, and understanding how one step changes what the next step can achieve. Digital tools and data widen the view; experience and clinical judgement turn that view into a plan.

Alongside clinical specialisation, he completed Healthcare Management and Finance at the University of Michigan in 2025, covering healthcare administration, health accounting, financing and financial analysis — a broader perspective on care as a system, and part of an ongoing approach to learning.

Orthodontics here is not presented as a collection of appliances. It is a connected sequence: diagnosis, analysis, decision, planning, execution, monitoring and reassessment.
